AKRON, OH – Have you ever wondered what it would be like to step into the batter’s box against a professional pitcher?  Well now’s your chance to find out just what it is like to go head-to-head with some of the best pitchers in the world.
Following the Akron Racers game against the USSSA Pride on Wednesday, July 26th, the Racers will be holding a “So You Think You Can Hit?” event in coordination with the Pride’s Jordan Taylor, in which a $25 donation will get you five chances to get a hit off a randomly selected member of the Pride or Racer pitching staff. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Akron Children’s Hospital’s Haslinger Family Pediatric Palliative Care Center.
The Pediatric Palliative Care Center provides care to prenatal to young adult children with complex, chronic or serious conditions and their families, enhancing the quality of life in partnership with cure-directed care.  The Pediatric Palliative Care Center has received the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval by demonstrating compliance with the commission’s national standards for healthcare quality and safety in pediatric palliative care.
Those interested in signing up for your chance to hit off an NPF pitcher can sign up on the Akron Racers website at http://akronracers.org/team/so-you-think-you-can-hit/.  Deadline for registration is Monday, July 24. Those entered can pay by credit card or by mailing a check to the Akron Racers Charities:
