Title: Sales Manager
Reports to: Pres/GM – Ms. Joey Arrietta
Job Objective
Responsible for the development and performance of sales activities related to the Akron Racers and all of the events held at Firestone Stadium. The Sales Manager will be in charge of building the sales department from the ground up, and meeting monthly and annual sales goals. This person will manage the sales department and provide leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. They will create a plan and strategy to increase corporate sponsorship involvement with the Akron Racers and Firestone Stadium events.
Responsibilities
Develops an overall strategy for the sales department that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
* Responsible for the performance and development of the team.
* Prepares a comprehensive plan for each individual in the sales department that effectively goes after new prospects and sales leads.
* Initiates and coordinates an action plan to penetrate new sales.
* Works with the General Manager to sell various company initiatives and inventory.
* Conducts weekly meetings with the sales department to build more effective communication and to provide insight for the improvement of each member’s sales and activity performance.
* Provides timely feedback to the General Manager regarding performance.
* Provides timely, accurate and competitive pricing on all sales inventory and programs.
* Maintains accurate records of all sales and activity in the sales department.
* Creates and conducts proposal presentations as needed.
* Assists and is responsible for all members of the sales department reaching their sales goals.
* Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.
* Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the sales team.
Relationships & Roles
Internal / External Cooperation
* Insures that all members of the sales department meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and closes.
* Delegate’s authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
* Sets examples for all members of the sales department in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
* Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
* Demonstrates ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.
Job Specifications
* Experience in a sports related sales department is preferred.
* Experience with sales prospecting, presentations and account management.
* Understanding of the sales process.
* Willingness to lead a growing organization in their sales efforts.
* Ability to drive the sales teams.
