Racers Bound For Music City; Take on Diamonds

AKRON, Ohio –
Fresh off a 16-0 rout of the Northeast Ohio All-Stars the Racers embark on the 2010 National Pro Fastpitch season by taking on league newcomer, the Tennessee Diamonds in a five-game set, starting on Wednesday, June 9 through Sunday, June 13. Games will be played at Draper Diamond on the Lipscomb University campus in Nashville.

In a monumental opening weekend series, fans can also catch a glimpse at both the Chicago Bandits and USSSA Pride on national TV as the two square off in the “West Texas Showdown,” live on ESPN2 at 5 p.m. EST on Saturday, June 12. Adding to the heightened drama surrounding the event, Olympic teammates Cat Osterman and Jennie Finch have been slated to take the circle for the Pride and Bandits respectively.

Fans looking to catch what the Racers do on the road are encouraged to take advantage of games streamed on MLB.com. Exhibition games and archives will be available free of charge while the entire NPF season will be available for a $19.95 subscription rate (once available).

The Racers conclude an eight-game road stand with a three-game series at Chicago, Sunday June 20 through Tuesday, June 22 before opening up at Firestone Stadium against the Bandits on Thursday, June 24.
