Akron Racers To Host Meet ‘N Greet at Hackers Bar & Grill on Tuesday

Racers Kick of 2010 Promotions Schedule with Meet ‘N Greet

AKRON, Ohio (June 14, 2010) – The Akron Racers will hold a “Meet ‘N Greet Event for fans tomorrow on Tuesday, June 15 at Hackers Restaurant (600 Swartz Rd.) in Akron, Ohio to launch the 2010 promotional schedule.

In addition to a cash bar, fans will have the opportunity to take pictures and receive autographs from their favorite Racers. The team will also host the inaugural Hitter’s Challenge, featuring various Racers players who will all compete! The aim of the game? To see which Racer can hit the ball farthest down the driving range so come out and cheer your favorite player on to victory.

This season, the team has an extensive promotional schedule with a little something for everyone out there during each homestand! Thursday, June 24 through Sunday, June 27 the Racers welcome the Chicago Bandits and will celebrate Crystl Bustos on Thursday evening. The Dusty Armadillo has partnered with the team to bring the Country Night to life on Friday while area Mascots will assemble at Firestone Stadium in celebration of Wheelie’s birthday complete with a Wheelie Bank Giveaway* on Saturday. Sunday afternoon’s game will commemorate the special relationship between fathers and daughters in the inaugural “Dads & Daughters Day” on Pepsi Kids Day.

Two season-long promotions fans don’t want to miss out on are Pepsi Kids Days and the Race to the Championship Series. Each Sunday, Pepsi Kids Day will feature $1 hot dogs as well as $5 tickets (stadium & terrace) for kids aged 12 and under. The day is capped off with two Dr. Pepper Bike giveaways, with a random drawing for one lucky boy and girl to take home!

In preparation for the 2010 NPF Championship Series in Sulphur, Louisiana, Akron Racers Charities, Ninni’s Bakery and the Quality Inn in Sulphur have partnered to provide the Racers’ King Cake Challenge which will award two lucky fans an all-expenses paid trip to the Championship Series. A long-standing Mardi Gras tradition, the king cake will be available to the first 20 people for $10 a slice at each Racers home game. Once the 25 winners have been determined from each home game, the final king cake slicing will take place on August 8 to see who wins the contest!
