Racers Set To Face Chicago Bandits in Three-Game Series
AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Racers (3-2) and Chicago Bandits (3-2) will meet in a three-game set in Elgin, Ill. starting on Sunday, June 20 through Tuesday, June 22 at Judson University. Sunday’s game will start at 6:05 p.m. EST while Monday and Tuesday are slated to begin at 8:05 p.m. and 2:05 p.m. EST respectively.
The Racers roll into town swinging hot bats, on the heels of a 3-2 series win over the Tennessee Diamonds to start the season. Micaela Minner paces the squad and ranks second in the league with eight hits, including a home run and four RBI. The Racers’ pitching staff boasts the best earned run average in the league with a low 1.98 ERA through the first five games as Jamee Juarez (1-1) and Lisa Norris (2-0) each hold respective 0.40 and 0.58 ERAs.
The Bandits, who face the Virginia Renegades in an exhibition contest Saturday evening, lead the league with a .308 batting average and .521 slugging percentage but also rank highest with a 6.00 ERA.
